OUR
STORY.

The fish that started it all — 6 lb 11 oz bass from 2019
THE FISH THAT STARTED IT ALL / 6 LB 11 OZ BASS / 2019

Growing up spending every summer in Maine, I developed a true passion for fishing and the outdoors. However, going from fishing Maine's crystal-clear mountain lakes to Connecticut's murky ponds and rivers, where I fished the rest of the year, was quite the adjustment. It ultimately challenged me to learn about fishing different fish and different waters.

I knew the big fish were still there, but they were harder to catch. Heavily pressured waters, the most unthinkable and unreachable places. You name it, we fished it. I learned to love the challenge just as much as the catch.

In 2019, this 6 lb 11 oz bass changed everything. I was hooked.

I started CATCHING BIGGINS as a fishing account to share my catches, experiences, and everything that came with THE CHASE.

I've always loved every piece of fishing gear I could get my hands on. But new gear didn't come around often, so I made the most of what I had. Over the years, I've worn through countless jackets, pants, and bags. All destroyed by THE CHASE.

Whether it was bushwhacking through rugged terrain to reach a honey hole from the bank or facing harsh conditions offshore, I always valued gear that could keep up.

In 2026, drawing on my marketing studies at Quinnipiac University and years of experience on the water, I saw an opportunity to turn that passion into something bigger. Something I could share with other anglers, but ultimately, something that could actually help them.

AID THE CHASE.

That's our mission. To develop strong, dependable fishing apparel and performance gear built for the real conditions anglers face. Gear that can handle the places THE CHASE takes us.

Because I know what it's like to make the most of the gear you have, and how much it matters when that gear holds up.

What started as my own passion has grown into a shared vision. I'm proud to introduce the people helping bring CATCHING BIGGINS to life and what THE CHASE means to each of them.

Different waters. Different biggins. SAME CHASE.

ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE / KYLE

THE SAME CHASE.

Fishing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. To me, it's more than just catching fish. It's a valuable skill that teaches patience, persistence, and problem-solving, while also giving me a chance to get outdoors, clear my head, and enjoy time on the water. I met Eddie through college, and our shared passion for fishing brought us together right away.

That connection is a perfect example of what CATCHING BIGGINS is all about.

As an aspiring sales professional and entrepreneur, I'm excited to bring my interest in business to something I'm genuinely passionate about. My goal is to support Eddie, help grow CATCHING BIGGINS, and turn a shared vision into something bigger.

ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE / JIMMY

MORE THAN THE CATCH.

JAMES “JIMMY” STRATTON / DIRECTOR OF FIELD RESEARCH & BRAND DEVELOPMENT

My passion for fishing started at a young age, spending time on the water with my dad and learning to appreciate everything the outdoors has to offer.

Some of my favorite memories come from fishing with my oldest friend, Eddie, the founder of Catching Biggins. Whether we were chasing bigger fish or just sitting by the water catching little bluegill, it was never only about what we caught. It was about the time we spent outdoors, the memories made, and getting away from everything else for a while.

That same passion is what I bring to Catching Biggins today. As a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) student at the University of Connecticut, I combine years of fishing experience with a background in mapping, spatial analysis, and environmental research. I hope to use that knowledge to better understand the waters anglers depend on, contribute to field research, and help develop products built around the needs of real fishermen.

For me, fishing has always been about more than catching fish. It's a chance to disconnect, spend time with the people who matter, and reconnect with the outdoors.

That's the feeling I want Catching Biggins to represent. A genuine passion for fishing and the experiences that bring people together.
